Modern metal ceramics: important findings and helpful guidelines for users
Modern metal ceramics such as IPS Style are newly developed glass-ceramics that contain leucite, fluorapatite and oxyapatite crystals. These enable the fabrication of restorations with high firing stability, optimized shrinkage and natural esthetics.
Modern technologies such as CADCAM / SLM / SINTERING and the continuous further developments in the area of software and hardware as well as the availability of highly innovative materials enable the dental technician to manufacture everything from single-tooth restorations to multi-unit bridges and implant constructions with improved precision and efficiency.
Modern materials, titanium, titanium alloys and CoCr alloys are currently processed with dental milling machines. Milling precious metal alloys has proven to be economically uninteresting due to the large amount of material removed and the high material costs.
In this webinar, I would like to pass on important processing tips and solutions for handling and using new materials and technologies, and at the same time present the advantages of the latest generation of IPS Style metal ceramics from IvoclarVivadent.
